Teaching And The Implementation
Mathematics is for all People, so we must learning
it without compulsion. For the example, last week Mr. Marsigit went to her
grand daughter’s house. He was teaching his belove grand daughter with the
concept about of time. For the baby it’s so difficult to understood that
concept. Mr. Marsigit have played a game with her, he brought a toy with a
lamp. He explained the procedure of the toy. The toy has 3 mode, the first mode
when pushed once it can illuminate to continue. The second mode, if pushed
twice it can blinking. And the last mode if we pushed for long time, maybe two
minute, it can turn off. And she couldn’t do, so Mr. Marsigit gave her example
again and she was able to do. And for a long time, she was forgot. It’s
difficult concept from adult people and copying to baby and she was became
bored. This activity was so easy for adult people but it also difficult for
very young baby..
Adult people every day learning about the concept
of time. There is relationship between distance, speed, and time. If the time
was longer so the farther the distance. And Mr. Marsigit grand daughter have
learning about that. It can emerge intuition. We are need to learn mathematics
because we are candidate of teacher mathematics in junior or senior high school
even at elementary school. For the young baby we can teach basic mathematics
such as about number, geometrical shape, basic operation with addition and
substraction number. We can make a song about number, playing a game, and maybe
with some picture.
Mr. Ilham has a research in Utrecth University. He
was said that in Netherland has a unique games. It names Rumicube. It game
applicable to connected the relationship between colour and number. Every
learning related to and ready for daily activity.
About geometry, we can observe surroundings. For example, we can measuring
the width of the classroom. If we don’t know the widht of the classroom, so, we
are using intuition. Or we can measuring the length of the student feet. The
average the female feets are 22 centimeters. It’s using the concept of
distance. So we can learn mathematics from resources arounding our live. There
are many artefact in central java such as Borobudur and Prambanan temple. The
artefacts is some sample of mathematics application. In the modern era, many technology
can support mathematics teacher to teach. We are the candidate of mathematics
teacher, so, we must expertist to use technology. So we can simultaneously
learning english because it’s one size of learning mathematics education.
